The Vault

The complete 171 Entertainment production archive. Two decades of music video, documentary, corporate, photographic, and promotional work — organised and accessible.

About The Vault

171 Entertainment began archiving production work in the early 2000s, initially as an internal reference library for the production team. Over time, the archive grew into something more substantial: a documented record of over twenty years of Australian entertainment production, covering music video, documentary, corporate, photography, and promotional content.

The Vault is not just a storage facility. It's a production resource. Archive footage from past productions has been used in artist retrospectives, documentary features, television broadcast packages, and digital content campaigns. When an artist has a career milestone — a 20-year anniversary, an ARIA induction, a major tour — the archive is often where the most compelling visual content comes from.

Access to The Vault is managed on a project-by-project basis. Artists and labels seeking to draw on archived productions for new projects should contact us directly.

Music Video Archive

The largest single component of The Vault is our music video production archive. This collection spans the full history of 171 Entertainment's production work and includes content across multiple genres and formats.

Artist Collections

Several artists have accumulated enough production history with 171 Entertainment that their work constitutes a dedicated collection within The Vault. These artist-specific archives span multiple releases, tours, and campaigns.

Documentary and Long-Form Archive

The Vault holds a substantial collection of documentary and long-form production content — artist profiles, behind-the-scenes productions, and branded documentary work for corporate clients.

Long-form content in the archive ranges from five-minute promotional documentaries to full-length feature productions. Format, condition, and transfer status varies by production date and original format.

Photography and Still Image Archive

Alongside video production, 171 Entertainment has accumulated an extensive still photography archive. These images were produced on shoots across our production history — on-set photography, live performance coverage, artist portraiture, and location photography.

The still image archive serves multiple functions: it provides assets for press releases and media use, supplies content for retrospective projects, and documents the production history of the company's work. Key photography collections are available for licensed use by artists and labels.

Production Services Archive

The Vault also holds reference materials from 171 Entertainment's production services divisions — graphic design, visual effects, EPK production, and web work from across the company's history.

Accessing the Archive

The Vault is not a public-access facility. Archived content is made available for legitimate production, broadcast, and retrospective purposes on a case-by-case basis. This includes:

  • Artists seeking archival footage for anniversary or retrospective projects
  • Labels managing catalogue content for streaming or re-release
  • Broadcasters seeking archival content for documentary or feature projects
  • Journalists and researchers documenting Australian music history

Licensing terms, format availability, and access procedures vary by production. Contact us with specific enquiries — provide as much detail as possible about the production, artist, and approximate date range.
